Webflow Pasting: Unlinking Components Explained

When I paste something into webflow it unlinks the components For pasting cross-site we had to unlink components. Is that expected?

Filip C. yeah, thats expected since its most likely the case that the component doesn't share the same unique ID even if you created it with the same name but even if you did that, not sure if Webflow would know what to do with it?
