Optimal Usability Concerns

At a glance

The community member is providing feedback on a product, highlighting issues with usability and the Webflow platform. They are frustrated that they cannot access all the components they have saved, and that they cannot directly copy components from the Webflow library into the site builder. To work around this, they are using Figjam to take screenshots of the components and arrange them before building the site in Webflow.

In the comments, another community member suggests using the Wireframes tool in the Site Builder, but the original poster confirms they have already tried this. Another community member is confused about the use of Figjam and asks for clarification, to which the original poster explains that they are using Figjam's whiteboard to quickly stack screenshots of the wireframes they want to use, as they cannot access or view all the components they have saved.

hey guys,

great product idea - and well done on the execution so far!
you're kind of building something i've wanted for a long time.

here are some things that bother me regarding optimal usability:

  1. really annoying [video] - i've looked through all the components in webflow and saved the most relevant ones for me. now, i'm getting frustrated - as i look through my saved collection, i don't see nearly all the components which i spent hours finding and collecting by 'saving' them. i don't know if this is a general problem, but it seems that the exact thing i initially liked about this approach is now not useful.
  2. annoying - i can't copy a component from your webflow library into your site builder. that seems super weird to me, since it would easily be the fastest way to build a preliminary structure that matches my sitemap. instead, i find myself screenshotting the components and structuring them in a figjam to get a feel for the site before actually building it in webflow.

Hey, about number 2. Have you used the Wireframes tool in Site Builder?

I’m confused about what you use Figjam for. You can change components in the wireframes by searching for them. Or do you mean UI components within sections?

understandably, ! (:

i'm just using figjam's whiteboard as a workaround to quickly stack screenshots of the wireframes i want to use - to get a simple overview and confirm my choices before building. i find this easier than writing down the numbers of the saved components because i can't access or view all the components i've saved for my shortlist.
