I just finished watching the 10 video getting started guide, and am totally lost after watching the last video. There's the video on how to import Relume projects into Figma, and then how to style them in Figma. Then there's the video on setting up the Webflow style guide and importing projects directly into Webflow without using Figma.
I completely understand everything talked about in all of those, but then in the last video where it's supposed to go from Figma to Webflow, it starts out saying to look for all the components you'll need, but then after that it seems to completely leave Figma behind.
It then says if the project is Relume's Sitebuilder to import it (Shouldn't the project be in there since that's where we made it?) and if not it basically has you create it from scratch inside Webflow ...
But aren't we supposed to be moving from Figma to Webflow? I'm just completely lost on this video.
Update: I rewatched the video and I see that in the part where it seems to be what you do if the project isn't in the Relume Sitebuilder, the components are all being copied from Figma to Webflow.
But I still don't understand how the site is going from Figma to Webflow when it's being created from scratch and then just components copied from Figma.
All the other options are a simple import and Figma to Webflow seems incredibly complicated and time consuming.
If you used the site builder to start, you can import the wireframes straight to Webflow. This means you have the ‘skeleton’ of what you created, and then you can add the styles that you developed in Figma.
The process isn’t as easy as a click of a button, but it’s about 90% faster than developing without Relume
Yeah, I watched this video from the Flux Academy guy go through from start to finish using Relume AI and then importing into Figma designing there, and then importing to Webflow from Relume and adding the styles as you said.
He explained that you can't move it directly from Figma to Webflow, which was completely missing from that last video.
I'm gonna watch it again now knowing what I know, but that last video should be redone it isn't really very clear. I've watched it multiple times. I just had to watch the Flux Academy video once and in one minute he explained what should have been explained in that last video IMO.
So I just watched it again and it seems that when he says "If your site is in the Relume Sitebuilder import it" , and then when he starts to say you have to do it from scratch I assume he's meaning that the site isn't in Relume and only in Figma? (like it was deleted from the Sitebuilder or something) .. After he said "import it" if he said "You can't move the site directly from Figma to Webflow so once the wireframes are imported, you're gonna have to reapply the styles" and show that process.
But instead if just cuts off and cuts to him copying and pasting components from Figma to Webflow. It's still very confusing. I know how to use Webflow but it's the fact that they didn't even say that's what you need to do he just cut after one sentence and went to the other condition of not having it in Sitebuilder.
Personally I would like an official guide on best practices step by step in the easiest fastest way humanly possible.
I think the Flux Academy guy's way is the simplest for me. It's how I always did it without Relume anyway...
Just manually add the styles from Figma.
Thanks Alex. I've seen the Flux guy too. 🙂 He's good. I've been building websites with Duda for 10 years now. Haha I want to try the Relume, Figma, Webflow process.
I had the same experience and got stuck and confused. The Figma/Webflow plugin doesn’t seem to work. Step-by-step guy would definitely help or having a coaching session.
This is the video that helped me understand it. I put the time index in it so it starts right at the Webflow part. https://youtu.be/8bm1Pl5ecEI?si=n0rHpcR09qIfJHoU&t=2804
