Navbar5 issue on mobile safari

At a glance

The community member is struggling with a Navbar5 issue on mobile Safari, where the menu opens and closes but immediately returns to a fixed state of opened. This issue does not occur on the community member's Mac using Chrome. The community member has tried various fixes like changing the position, removing interactions, disabling dropdown hover, and removing Lenis Smooth Scroll, but the issue persists. Another community member suggests it might be an interactions issue, and they are willing to take a look, but without a read-only link, it's difficult to reproduce and diagnose the problem. The community members are hoping to get a read-only link from the client to help resolve the issue.

Hey y’all, I’m struggling with Navbar5 only on mobile using Safari. The issue doesn’t appear when using my Mac using Chrome at any of the breakpoints.

The menu will open and close, then immediately return to a fixed state of opened. Apparently it’s also happening on another site I manage.

Main things I’ve tried so far that haven’t fixed the issue:

  • Changing the position.
  • Removing any extra interactions.
  • Disabling dropdown hover open.
  • Removing Lenis Smooth Scroll (thinking it might be a conflict there)

Would love so help to get this resolved. Thank you!!!

- Do you have any ideas on what’s causing this? (it seems like you help with a lot of these #C02MS2V0FSP requests).

Here’s a link to the live page (I don’t have a read-only link since it’s in my client’s workspace).

dang without a read-only link I'm afraid this might be really hard to do. I really wish Webflow hadn't restricted read-only access like that....that was a new change. Likely because of the "guest access" changes.

I've just tested it on everything I own and all the browsers and I am not able to reproduce the issue - which also makes this 100x harder.

That makes a lot of sense and I was surprised when I couldn’t find the button. Coulda sworn it was right there. 🤣

I’m getting a read-only link from the client in probably 30 minutes. If you have some time, I’d really appreciate your eyes on it.

The issue is happening on mobile Safari. That’s the only place it’s popping up, but my client is seeing it on a few iPhones they’ve tested it on.

I’m guessing it’s some property that Safari doesn’t support but I’ve never had this happen with a Relume component and I didn’t put any crazy css properties on it (that I’m aware of).

yeah, I tested it on mobile safari

but yeah, feels like an interactions issue

I will say, its likely not related to Relume at all - but I'm cool to take a look this evening. No promises for sure.

We really only just style the navbars - otherwise the interactions are native to Webflow

but why it happens for some and not other will likely also remain a mystery

That’s so strange, I’m using the safari mobile testing tools and it’s not revealing much. Again, I should have a read-only link shortly.

I appreciate you being willing to help, even with it being outside your area of responsibilities.

absolutely - what is community, if its not for helping each other out?! 🤘
