Migrating from Wordpress to Webflow: Insights and Limitations

At a glance

The community members are discussing the process of migrating a website from WordPress to Webflow. Some members suggest that a full redesign and rebuild from scratch may be necessary, rather than a direct migration. One member mentions using a WordPress plugin to export the database as a CSV file, which can then be mapped and added to Webflow's Collections. Another member recommends the Attributes plugin by Finsweet as a good option for filtering in Webflow. However, there is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Useful resources

Has anyone migrated a site from Wordpress to Webflow and would be able to jump on a call to answer a few questions about that process? I'm also curious about Webflow's limitations in terms of CMS and filtering

I’m not sure about the migration part / if there’s a way to do it besides just rebuilding in Webflow from the ground up (I’ve never done a migration).
For filtering though, I’m learning that there are definitely some great options! Check out Attributes by Finsweet https://finsweet.com/attributes

Yep I think it’ll be a redesign and build from scratch actually. Don’t think there’s another way to do it

Definitely looking at Finsweet! It seems to be the to-go for this kind of thing

You can get one of those Wordpress plugins to export database in csv, then map those and add it your Collections on Webflow

Ooh okay this is a good idea!
