Handling Multilingual Websites: Locales and Translations

At a glance

The community member has published an English and French version of a website, but is facing issues with the locale functionality. When accessing the French URL, they have an option to switch to English, but the English URL does not provide a way to switch to French. Additionally, the text is not 100% accurately translated between the two languages.

The comments suggest that the community member may need to enable the locale settings, possibly by purchasing a locale plan. However, the community member is on a locale plan but is still unable to check off the necessary settings. They have also added buttons to allow users to switch between languages, but are unable to click the switch themselves.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the provided information.

Useful resources

How do locales work? I have published an English and French version of a website. When I go to the French URL I have an option for it to switch to English, but on the English URL it doesn't give me the option to switch to French.

As well, the text is not 100% exact translated, so if it switches from French to English then it's not going to be the correct English text.
What do I do?

have you enabled it in the settings bottom left?

In order to do this you would have had to purchase a locale plan.

I'm on a locale plan but it's not letting me check that off.

I added buttons at the top of the site that people can switch themselves, but why can't I click that switch?
