Filtering Products By Categories With Finsweet Attributes

At a glance

The community member is having trouble with Filters 5 in Webflow, specifically trying to filter products by their categories (which may have more than one). They have tried changing the "categories" on top to radio buttons and putting them back in the form block, but it's still not working. They are unsure if it's because they are nesting a second collection list for multi-ref. The community members discuss troubleshooting steps, such as checking the published URL, running the implementation through the Finsweet attributes self-help, and looking for potential issues with the filter setup. However, there is no explicitly marked answer provided.

Hi guys! I’m having some troubles with Filters 5 - so I’m trying to filter products by their categories (each of them may have more than 1), and it’s not working with the Finsweet attributes :(

I originally found that the “categories” on top were purely link blocks so I changed them into radio and put it back to the form block (it now causes me trouble in opening the sort dropdown 😅). But after that, it’s still not working :( Nor sure if it’s because I’m nesting a second collection list for multi-ref?!

Appriceate if anyone could help to have a look. can you share the published URL as well, so that I can see it functioning (or not).

Also have you run your implementation through the attributes self-help yet?

It can sometimes have a false positive (or negative even) but its worth running it through that initially. Once I have the published URL this will be the first thing that I do.

I also know that there were some legit bugs with CMS filters with certain combinations of input types.

This one will take some time to troubleshoot, so buckle up, we'll ride together!

Okay, so looks like a false positive - says everything is connected properly, but obviously its not working

This attribute filters should be on this element filters5_category-menu

Also if you have multiple instances of filters, you'll need to do filters-1, filters-2, etc

which might be where the false positive came in - to the helper it looked like it was all set up but it was mix-matched

shoot, sorry I'm wrong about the filters attribute - you have that set up right, disregard that.

dang that whole theory is wrong because its all wrapped in the form tag so its all good there, will keep looking....hang on!

I will revisit this tomorrow and report back

Sure, please take your time! Really appreciate for your help :)
