whenever i copy and paste components von the relume library into my webflow project, I get these “renamed classes” > then I have all this duplicated classes. why is that?
@Matt Kerres Do you have the Relume browser extension installed? Check out this article: https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/how-to-fix-and-prevent-class-duplication-in-webflow#:~:text=To%20avoid%20class%20duplication%20you,same%20as%20the%20Webflow%20project.
@Matt Kerres it looks to me like maybe your webflow library or chrome extension preferences might be set differently. I see some spacers in here versus wrappers.
https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/updating-existing-projects#change-your-component-library-preferences
@Matt Kerres there's a separate preference within the Relume Library as well - check that - since you mentioned you copied the component from there. These preferences don't sync.
okay but once there is a duplicate of that class, it'll continue to happen - so if your preferences were off in the library and you copied/pasted a component there that didn't match, created a duplicate class, and then tried from the extension, it'll also create a duplicate class. We just need to cover our bases here so that we're not flagging a false positive on a bug. Once we have this confirmed, I can try to reproduce the bug - if I do reproduce it, then I'll file it. If I can't reproduce it, then I won't be able to file the bug unless I have hard evidence. Hard evidence would be a loom video or similar showing the bug happening in real time.
This doc walks you through how to clean and prevent duplicate classes:
https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/how-to-fix-and-prevent-class-duplication-in-webflow
confirmed, I did this… to proof this, posting screenshots (maybe you see something else)
here, all heading classes are clean
yeah, I'm not able to reproduce. I've tried in several ways and with different preference configs as well as ensuring that those classes had some modifications to them.
There's a list of tips at the bottom of that doc - I would be sure to follow all of those. I would also test it out in a guest profile of chrome to try to eliminate any effects a chrome extension might have on this.
https://www.relume.io/resources/docs/how-to-fix-and-prevent-class-duplication-in-webflow#troubleshooting-tips
did all the steps there… in guest profile it is even worse (probably because I cannot have extensions in guest profile)
ah right silly, that had crossed my mind but we do have class sync in the app but your not using that in either of these cases.
