Hi all. I'm building a site where prices need to be shown in the local currency of visitors. Mainly for US, UK, and Europe. What is the best way to do this?
You can localize by country on Webflow: https://webflow.com/localization
This would be the cleanest way probably!
I thought about this, but my worry was that it would require the client to manually convert currencies. Is that wrong?
Do they have pricing per country/region? Or do they just convert it depending on the country you are visiting from?
With the locales, you would be able to set up the pricing for the region, but it would have to be set manually
The price is based on conversion rates... Feels like building three different sites with localisation is overkill for something that would be better handled by some sort of automatic converter
Yeah that is fair! There is this, but I think it is for e-commerce stores on Webflow: https://www.monto.io/multi-currency
Nice, that looks like a good option and would actually be cheaper than localisation as the products aren't actually being sold on the site. Cheers Matthew π
seems like maybe Matthew helped here but if not 100% - can I get more details about what the prices are for - you mentioned the products wont be sold on the site - so are they larger ticket items that can't be B2C traditionally but you still want to show the price, and have that price converted? If so, the only other option that I'm aware of right now besides this Monto option (which is a great option for sure) would be to use some custom javascript that would target specific classes and rewrite the text based on a currency exchange rate. This changes daily though so thats one big hurdle there. There should be an open API you could plug into to get this information. All this to say that it would likely not be very straight forward. Hoping the Monto option works for you.
Thanks Matt, so the prices are estimates for holiday packages, but clients need to enquire and book separately. If you can vouch for Monto, I think it's my best option for sure.
