Customizing the number of links in a navbar component

At a glance

The community member has a question about using components like navbar in their project. They want to know if they are forced to keep the exact number of links that the component defaults to, or if they can delete one. The community member is finding that the delete option is grayed out when they try to remove a link.

In the comments, another community member explains that for now, the community member would need to export to Figma or Webflow to make those kinds of edits. The team is working on these features but there is no estimated time of arrival (ETA).

The community member then shares another issue they are facing - when they change a component like the footer, it shows the new selection for a second and then defaults back to the original choice. They ask how to get it to update to the new selection.

Another community member responds that this seems like odd behavior and asks the community member to share their read-only Webflow project link and let them know what footer component they want to switch to, so they can investigate further.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the provided information.

Hi I have a question. When you use a component such as navbar are you forced to keep the exact number of links it shows? For example, most of them default to three links and in our case maybe we want to show only two but when I go to delete one, the delete option is grayed out. What do you do in this case? Thanks for any help.

for right now you would have to export to either Figma or Webflow to make those kinds of edits. The team is working really really hard on these features but we have no ETA.

Thank you, I appreciate the explanation.

I have run into one other issue. When I have a component such as footer, if I change it to a different selection, when I push it back to Webflow it shows it for a second and then defaults back to the original choice. How do I get it to update to the new one?

that seems like extremely odd behavior to me - wondering if we've missed a step here.

Can you share your read-only link to your webflow project and let me know what footer component you want to switch it to?
