Creating a custom hero section in webflow after importing from relume

At a glance

The community member used Relume to create a home page and imported it to Webflow, adding a Webflow section to create a custom hero. They noticed that the Relume sections (from the import) are divs with the tag set to section, and asked why Relume (Finsweet Client-first) doesn't use Webflow sections.

In the comments, another community member explained that semantically there is no real difference, and some old-school Webflow users don't like using the section element because it had some other styles that they could not control. However, they mentioned that these limitations may no longer exist. The original poster thanked the commenter and said they will go with divs.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the post and comments.

I used Relume to create a home page and import it to Webflow. I added a Webflow section to create a custom hero. After I finished, I noticed that the Relume sections (from the import) are divs with the tag set to section.

Why doesn't Relume (I guess it's actually Finsweet Client-first) use Webflow sections?

semantically there's no real difference. I think some of us old-school Webflow users dont like using the section element because it had some other styles that we could not control. There were some other limitations but I dont think those exist anymore - I wouldn't really know since I haven't used that element in years because there's really no benefit to using it.

Thanks for your reply. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't breaking anything. But I'm going with divs.
