Copying premium Figma kits for external teams

At a glance

The post asks if community members have encountered issues when copying a premium Figma kit, where the copied file opens up in external teams instead of the user's paid Figma workspace. The comments suggest that the default behavior is for the copied file to go to the Drafts section, from where it can be moved to another project or team. However, one community member reported that they were unable to move the file due to a lack of permissions, even though they are the admin and owner of the workspace. As a workaround, they downloaded the file and uploaded it to their workspace. The community member is unsure why they cannot move the file directly and would like to know if others have faced a similar issue or if they should contact Figma about it.

Does anyone run into problems when they copy the premium relume Figma kit it opens up in external teams versus in your paid Figma workspace?

I've always just made my own copy.

as Emmett said, I think by default it goes there - you can move it to another project or team once its in Drafts - at least I would hope.

, the system is not letting me move the file because it says I don't have the necessary permission. As a workaround, I downloaded this Figma file and uploaded it to my workspace. I am confused as to why I, being the admin and owner of my workspace, cannot move the file directly. I would like to know if anyone else ran into this or if I need to bring up this issue with Figma.
