Copying a relume component and custom attributes

At a glance

A community member noticed custom attributes on a Relume component they were copying and wanted to know if they could remove them. Other community members responded that the attributes were used for internal purposes and could be deleted. The community members also discussed the possibility of using custom attributes to keep track of which Relume components were used in different sections, and a Relume representative said this was a good idea and would be added to their roadmap.

Useful resources

I just noticed something when copying a Relume component I haven't seen before and I wonder if someone can explain (and also, can I remove it?) If you paste in Contact 1 (https://www.relume.io/preview?cid=contact-sections/section_contact1) there are Custom attributes on contact1_form (see screenshot). Does this need to remain?

I'm also just now noticing a custom attribute on all of the form_field-wapper divs. There isn't any explanation for this, so I would just really like to know what this is doing, what the purpose is, if it needs to stay etc.

thanks for raising this - you can delete them. They were used for internal use only several months ago and we’ve been trying to clean them up.

no problem. That's what I figured but just wanted to make sure!

just curious — would I be able to use this same method internally to keep track of what Relume component I used for a particular section? For example, let's just say I'm using section_header122, but I want to rename that to section_wedding-hero (and then all of the header122 would be renamed to wedding-hero via Finsweet Folders for example). Can I just add a little "note" as an attribute on that section and just type in the name of the original Relume component for my reference w/out it affecting anything? I mean, if nothing is tied to that attribute, it's just...nothing, right? Just wondering your thoughts on that. Thanks.

Yeah totally. In fact, thats such a great idea, I’ll add it to the roadmap!
