Changing the master component in figma

At a glance

The community member has a question about changing the master component in Figma from footer 2 to footer 3 after exporting a design from Relume. The comments provide some suggestions, such as duplicating the Figma kit as a starting point, using the "shift + i" shortcut to find and replace components, and using the "paste as replace" feature to bulk update components across multiple pages. Another community member asks about importing tablet wireframes to Figma, and is informed that this is not currently possible, but their feedback will be added to the list.

Hello I have a question I exported my design from relume to figma, in figma it creates a master component of the footer 2 that I chose but now I want to change to footer 3 from figma to be the master component how can I do that?

have you duplicated the figma kit as your starting point and that is where you've imported your wireframes or no? If not, that'll be step 1 - creating a new figma file using the figma kit which has all the components already in it.

Then you would simply do shift + i to find new components to replace existing ones.

To bulk update across multiple pages, a single component, you can zoom out - select all of the components across all the pages, and then right click "paste as replace" - and it will paste in the replacement component in Figma, with the new one.

There's a few other workflows I do around this after having done a couple dozen client websites using Site Builder, you pick up a thing or two. Let me know if any of these answer your question or if you have additional questions - happy to help!

Hey How does one import tablet wireframes to figma? I am easily able to import Desktop/mobile views to figma, but not tablet

not currently possible but I will add your vote to the list on it - appreciate your feedback!
