Can Relume Replace Ux Designers?

At a glance
The post asks whether Relume, a design tool, can completely replace UX designers if used by product owners. The comments from community members provide the following insights:

- Relume can replace a lot of "pixel pushing" but cannot fully replace UX designers, similar to how AI cannot replace developers yet.

- Relume can replace the divergent UX/IA explorations, freeing up UX designers to focus on higher-level strategic thinking with product owners.

- The goal of Relume is not to replace UX designers, but to empower them to work more efficiently and focus on smaller design details.

- Relume can be considered an AI assistant with the design skills of a principal designer and industry expertise.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Hello folks from Relume, a little not-so-innocent question. Do you think Relume can completely replace UX designers if it's put into the hands of a product owner?

I'll answer as a designer that worked with multiple Product Owners.
It can replace a lot of pixel pushing for sure.

However, similar to how AI can't replace developers (yet hopefully :D), you can't really replace UX Designers by using a design library (even the one as good as Relume).

It’ll replace the divergent ux/ia explorations. Which is great, because those explorations are meant to facilitate business critical discussions. Therein freeing up UX Designers in partnership with Product Owners to think through what the next right step could be. So, in short, it’ll replace the human pace of divergent explorations.

Hey ! Great question.

Our goal is to not replace UX designers but to empower them to work more efficiently and put more time into smaller details which makes the design better from an overall perspective.

Consider AI as your assistant! This is not your typical low-level assistant. This assistant is highly qualified. They possess the design skills of a principal designer or creative director, along with the domain knowledge of an industry expert.
