Autoplay linked vimeo videos without bandwidth issues

At a glance

The community member is looking for a solution to autoplay their linked Vimeo videos without consuming too much bandwidth. They know it's possible with a 'background video' element, but the locally hosted videos are causing bandwidth issues. Another suggested solution is to add a link to the 'background video' instead of uploading the files.

The comments suggest that using Vimeo Pro and its specific embed code may be a solution, but the community member has only a Vimeo Starter account, so they may not have access to that feature. The comments also mention that a paid solution like Vimeo Pro is likely the best and cleanest option, as finding a free solution would be difficult.

Not sure if this is the right spot but I need a solution to get my linked vimeo videos to autoplay. I know it is possible with a 'background video' element but the locally hosted videos are killing our bandwidth. Another solution would be adding a link to the 'background video' instead of uploading the files. Any ideas?

I don’t have it handy and I am mobile but search youtube for timothy ricks background videos. If you have vimeo pro you can host the videos there and use embed code to load the video. There is a very specific URL that you need with specific parameters on the embed.

Thanks I'll check it out. I have vimeo starter so I don't think I can access the link you're talking about but I'll take a look!

Yeah unfortunately the only solution im aware of that is top-notch and clean is vimeo pro background video

Possibly other paid solutions as well but you’d be hard to find a free solution
